چکیده

P a t i e n t s 5126 patients (mean age 67 y, 76% men) who had stable angina with a history of myocardial infarction (MI), coronary bypass surgery, a definite diagnosis (by angiography) of coronary heart disease (CHD), or a documented positive result on the exercise test. Patients with CHD or a positive result on the exercise test were also required to have additional risk factors, including left ventricular ejection fraction ≤ 45%, echocardiographic end-diastolic dimension > 55 mm, and type 1 or type 2 diabetes. Patients receiving treatment with a sulfonylurea were excluded. Follow-up was 100%.

Effects of Nicorandil on the Clinical and Laboratory Outcomes of Unstable Angina Patients after Coronary Angioplasty

Introduction: Ischemic preconditioning mediated by potassium channels is a physiological protective mechanism, . It is hypothesized that Nicorandil, which is a potassium channel activator, could protect the heart via preconditioning. Materials and Methods:This clinical trial was conducted on 162 patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in Quem hospital, from Jan2013 to Jan 2...

Nicorandil effect on myocardial perfusion in patients with slow coronary flow phenomenon assessment by gated myocardial perfusion SPECT

Introduction:Patients with the coronary slow flow phenomenon (SCF) frequently experience angina episodes. The purpose of this study was to determine efficacy of nicorandil in myocardial perfusion in patients with SCF. Methods: Twenty patients (50.85 ± 12.96 y) with SCF were studied.  We evaluate coronary slow flow according to protracted thrombolysis in m...

Nicorandil, a hybrid between nitrate and ATP-sensitive potassium channel opener, preconditions human heart to ischemia during percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty.

The human heart progressively becomes more tolerant to ischemia after repeated balloon inflations during percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA). The present study investigated whether nicorandil, a hybrid between nitrate and an ATP-sensitive potassium channel opener, affects this ischemic preconditioning. Sixteen patients with stable angina pectoris caused by left anterior descen...

Effect of Opium Addiction on Aspirin Resistance in Stable Angina Pectoris

Background: The rate of cardiovascular diseases in developing countries is approximately 60% and it is still has an increasing trend. The clinical effectiveness of aspirin in preventing cardiovascular events has been well proven. Although aspirin is an effective and inexpensive drug, its consumption is not equally beneficial for all patients. Many factors can be affective on the efficacy of ant...

Effect of nicorandil on QT dispersion in patients with stable angina pectoris undergoing elective angioplasty: A triple-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study

BACKGROUND Nicorandil leads to the relaxation of fine vascular smooth muscle, and thus causes vasodilatation of major epicardial. Also, it has anti-arrhythmic and cardio-protective effects by improving reperfusion, and ultimately leads to a reduction in microvascular damage caused by percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to determine the effect of nicor...
